Valve Team Mechanic I, II, or III Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Valve Team Mechanic I, II, or III located at CNS . Summary of Job duties : Perform mechanical maintenance activities on both non-safety and safety-related components by performance of preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and planned and unplanned corrective maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation of Cooper Nuclear Station. Be available when required to ensure an adequate pool of manpower to correct plant problems. This position may be assigned to a position within the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) that requires response to the station when an emergency is declared. Assignment to one of these positions and a condition of continued employment will be the ability to arrive at the station to perform ERO responsibilities within 45 minutes of notification of an emergency.
Qualifications: Valve experience is highly preferred for this position Education and Training: Mechanic I Requirement: Incumbent must be recommended based on the Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS) results. Two-year Associates degree in mechanical discipline or related field, or equivalent military training and 2 years experience in a nuclear plant as a mechanic. OR High school diploma/GED and a minimum of 6 years of mechanical experience in an industrial setting and successful completion of Mechanic Level II training program at Cooper Nuclear Station Internal Promotion requires successful completion of assigned Mechanic Level I training and demonstrated performance of duties as a Mechanic II at Cooper Nuclear Station for at least 1 year. External hires must complete level I qualification within one year of hire. Must be qualified to ANSI N18.1-1971 requirements. (Documentation of qualification is a condition of employment.) Mechanic II Requirement: Incumbent must be recommended based on the Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS) results. Two-year Associates Degree in mechanical discipline or related field, or equivalent military training and 1 years experience as a mechanic OR High School diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years mechanical experience in an industrial setting Internal Promotion requires successful completion of assigned Mechanic Level II training and demonstrated performance of duties as Mechanic III at Cooper Nuclear Station. External hires must complete level II qualification within one year of hire. Mechanic III Requirement: Incumbent must be recommended based on the Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS) results. Two-year Associates Degree in mechanical discipline or related field, or equivalent military training OR High School diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of experience as a mechanic in an industrial setting; or successful completion of a mechanical apprentice program Licenses and/or Certifications Required: Prior Related
Experience: Per Item A above. Experience in a nuclear facility is preferred. Experience as a UST Technician (Fire-Brigade) will be considered relevant experience and count towards the minimum years of experience required. Valve experience is highly preferred for this position. Salary Information: Grade 9, 11, and 12 Depending on Experience/Non Exempt $20.09-$30.75 Resumes will be accepted through 11/4/2014 . The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
